The Beast of Hyde Park

Here's a little known account of a strange werewolf like beast attacking a couple in London's Hyde Park which seems to have escaped the notice of paranormal investigators.

I'm not going mad - I remember this vividly. Back in the seventies BBC2 would have a ten minute time slot (I think between 8:50 and 9pm) which they filled with varying 'themed' programmes each night. They ran a paranormal series in that slot for a few weeks - reports from ordinary men and women relating what they had seen or experienced which could be construed as paranormal.

A husband and wife were sitting telling their story of how they came out of a pub drunk, and cut through Hyde Park to get home...the husband embarressedly confessed that he was so scared at what they saw that he deserted his wife and ran away. They both said they were confronted by a taller than man 'beast' covered in fur (almost a cross between a bear and a 'werewolf') which roared at them. It looked as though it was about to attack them which is why the husband ran away. Of course I was laughing at this point and thinking 'Yeah, yeah I'm sure you saw a beast just like that' - when the woman described how it attacked her and clawed at her as well as biting her. I was still thinking 'Yeah, yeah' - when she suddenly opened her blouse to show the most horrific scarring and a missing breast. It seems she spent months in intensive care and a large scale Police hunt was made for whatever did it to her - but nothing was ever found.

Black Eyed Kids

Black Eyed Kids were first reported by a journalist Brian Bethel, when he published an apparently true account of a scary run-in with some strange and sinister kids. Since that report came to light, many people have reported similar encounters with these BEKs.

...Now here's where it starts to get strange.

The quiet companion looked at the spokesman with a mixture of confusion and guilt on his face. He seemed in some ways shocked, not with his friend's brusque manner but that I didn't just immediately open the door.

He eyed me nervously.

The spokesman seemed a bit perturbed, too. I still was registering something wrong with both.

"C'mon, mister," the spokesman said again, smooth as silk. Car salesmen could learn something from this kid. "Now, we just want to go to our house. And we're just two little boys."

That really scared me. Something in the tone and diction again sent off alarm bells. My mind was frantically trying to process what it was perceiving about the two figures that was "wrong."

"Eh. Um ...." was all I could manage. I felt myself digging my fingernails into the steering wheel.

"What movie were you going to see?" I asked finally.

"Mortal Kombat, of course," the spokesman said. The silent one nodded in affirmation, standing a few paces behind.

"Oh," I said. I stole a quick glance at the marquee and at the clock in my car. Mortal Kombat had been playing for an hour, the last showing of the evening.

The silent one looked increasingly nervous. I think he saw my glances and suspected that I might be detecting something was not above-board.

"C'mon, mister. Let us in. We can't get in your car until you do, you know," the spokesman said soothingly. "Just let us in, and we'll be gone before you know it. We'll go to our mother's house."

We locked eyes.

To my horror, I realized my hand had strayed toward the door lock (which was engaged) and was in the process of opening it. I pulled it away, probably a bit too violently. But it did force me to look away from the children.

I turned back. "Er ... Um ...," I offered weakly and then my mind snapped into sharp focus.

For the first time, I noticed their eyes.

They were coal black. No pupil. No iris. Just two staring orbs reflecting the red and white light of the marquee.

At that point, I know my expression betrayed me. The silent one had a look of horror on his face in a combination that seemed to indicate: A) The impossible had just happened and B) "We've been found out!"...

Incubus and Succubus

The Incubus and succubus (plural: incubi and succubi) are demons in the form of male and female humans (respectively) who lie upon sleepers in order to have sexual intercourse with them. They do this to produce incubus/succubus offspring. Repeated attacks by them apparently result in extreme fatigue, illness and eventually even death. But are these really supernatural attacks, or do they have a more 'down-to-earth' scientific cause?

Captured aliens in Brazil

In January, 1996, in the unfortunately named town of Varginha, Brazil, a number of aliens were apparently sighted, captured or killed by locals and turned over to US authorities. Up to as many as six aliens were supposed to have crashed in the area, and were described as 3 to 4 feet tall humanoids, with dark brown hairless skin, big triangular heads with three short 'horns' and huge red eyes....

"I just saw a ghost" - pic

Ghost appears in haunted house in Australia...

...Sitting in the sitting room looking at the doorway entrance and it passed from left to right - smoky/shady apparition (sp?) absolutely a 'person' but moving not at floor level - the head was nearer the ceiling and there was no sound as it made its way from left to right - I didn't feel alarmed, or threatened or anything - I just felt kinda gobsmacked lol...

Ghost hunt at an old saw mill, Kentucky

Two paranormal investigators explore a reputedly haunted sawmill, and experience some things they can't explain...

...The road is too narrow to do a turnabout so we had to drive a bit around the field to find a place to turn around and back track. Jammie was driving and talking about how weird the 'thud' had been. I was searching the far side of the field where trees climbed a shallow hillside. The hillside was clearly visible despite the trees because there was no greenery. That's when I saw another cabin...and this one looked to be open. I pointed it out to Jammie and suggested we go back and have a 'look see'. Finally, we were able to turn around and head back toward the sawmill. We were driving fairly slow and searching the far tree line for the cabin's tin roof. Just then Jammie nearly came to a dead halt in the middle of the road. "Did you see that?" She asked.

"No," I said. "What was it?" Jammie was frantically searching the treeline...looking for something to point out to me. "I saw something bright red hanging in the trees near the cabin," she said. "You mean like a cardinal or something?" I asked. "No," she shook her head. I could tell she was a bit disturbed that she couldnt find it again. "It was bigger...about the size of a child...like a child in a bright red coat..sitting in the trees." She said. We pulled in front of the sawmill again and parked. We headed out across the field toward the cabin. I spied a small path cut through the trees and leading directly toward the cabin. "Maybe we should be walking along that path." I suggested and pointed it out. Curiously though, when I looked from the path back to the cabin...we were already at the cabin...as though we had crossed the field in seconds rather than the minutes it should taken...

UFO at Newport Beach, California

Two surfers are accosted by a strange UFO on the beach...

...The light approached the beach. It was pretty bright, and large. At first it seemed as if it may be the spot light on a boat, but it was coming all the way up to the sand. We just sat there frozen. I realized it was too big to be a spot light and strangely we could look at it. It wasn't as bright as it should have been. We could see this light about 100 yards from where we sat at the edge of the beach where water met sand. It was not blinding us as a spot light should. It was white and it was on the break line. When the tide would pull out I could see the reflection of the light on the wet sand beneath it. It was above the sand. There was no boat. This light was at least as tall as a human. I remember saying something to the effect of,

"Are you seeing this too? It's not a boat, lets get out of here."

J confirmed he saw it too. We were watching it for perhaps 30 agonizing seconds. I'll never forget the look on his face as he said,

"Yeah, let's get out of here now."
